About Me

Hi, I’m Nicky

I'm a certified Infant Sleep Consultant, mum of three, and founder of Dreamy Dandelions Sleep Consultancy.

For more than 21 years, I have had the privilege of supporting children and families through my work in Children's Centres. Throughout my career, I have worked closely with parents during some of the most rewarding and challenging stages of family life, providing guidance, reassurance, and practical support. Over the years, one issue consistently emerged in conversations with parents: exhaustion. Sleep deprivation affects every aspect of family life, and I saw first-hand the impact it can have on parents' wellbeing, relationships, confidence, and ability to enjoy precious time with their children.

My passion for supporting families with sleep became deeply personal following my own fertility journey and experiences as a mother. After finally welcoming my children, I experienced the reality of sleepless nights, overwhelming fatigue, and the emotional challenges that come with balancing parenthood, work, and family life. Returning to work after maternity leave while coping with broken sleep was one of the most difficult experiences I have faced, and it gave me a genuine understanding of how challenging life can feel when everyone in the family is exhausted.

These personal experiences, combined with my professional background, inspired me to specialise in infant and child sleep support. I understand that every child is unique, and there is no one-size-fits-all approach. My goal is to work alongside families to find gentle, realistic, and responsive solutions that fit their child's temperament, developmental stage, and their family's values.

Alongside my sleep consultancy training, I am also trained in baby massage and have extensive experience supporting parents with children's behaviour and emotional development. Throughout my career, I have helped families understand their children's needs, strengthen parent-child relationships, and develop strategies to navigate challenging behaviours with confidence and compassion. This wider understanding of child development allows me to take a holistic approach when supporting sleep, recognising that a child's emotional wellbeing, routines, developmental milestones, and family circumstances all play an important role.

At Dreamy Dandelions Sleep Consultancy, I believe that parents deserve support without judgement. Whether you are struggling with frequent night waking, short naps, bedtime battles, early rising, or simply feeling overwhelmed and unsure where to start, I am here to guide and support you every step of the way.

My aim is not only to help your child sleep better, but to help your whole family feel more rested, confident, and able to thrive. I know how transformative good sleep can be, and I feel privileged to help families achieve the positive changes they are looking for.

When I'm not supporting families, you'll usually find me spending time with my own three children, appreciating the everyday moments of family life that inspired this journey in the first place.

How I can help

In a world full of "perfect" sleep schedules, strict routines, and rigid rules, I offer something different: practical, responsive support that works for real families and real life.

Many parents hesitate to seek sleep support because they're worried they'll be told to leave their baby to cry alone. With my practice, that is never the case. My approach is rooted in connection, responsiveness, and respect for both your child and your parenting instincts. I believe sleep support should feel supportive, not stressful.

I bring together the professional expertise of a family support worker with the lived experience of a mother who has been exactly where you are. I've survived the early mornings, the night wakings, the nursery drop-offs after little sleep, and the mental load of trying to function when you're completely exhausted.

My goal is not to help you create a "perfect sleeper." It's to help your family find a realistic, sustainable path towards better sleep that feels right for you.

Whether you're navigating frequent night wakings, short naps, bedtime battles, or simply feeling overwhelmed by conflicting advice, I'm here to provide guidance, reassurance, and a plan that fits your family's unique needs.

Because every family deserves support, every child is different, and nobody should have to struggle through sleepless nights alone.

  • He stayed in his own bed last night, I feel refreshed today.
